The 2021 North American Junior Red Angus Livestock Judges are:
Dr. Chris Cassady grew up on a diversified, family-owned purebred Angus and grain farm in North Central Illinois. He attended Black Hawk East and Texas A&M University and received a B.S. in Animal Science. While in college, Chris was on numerous champion livestock judging teams and also served as the Vice Chairman for the National Junior Angus Association board of directors. He then went on to receive a Ph.D. in cow-calf nutrition and management from the University of Illinois in 2016. Currently, Chris is an Assistant Teaching Professor and the Livestock Judging Team Coach at Iowa State University and teaches multiple undergraduate courses focused on livestock evaluation, marketing, and management. He has judged shows in over 35 states, including the Houston Livestock Show, Fort Worth Stock Show, National Western, the North American International Livestock Exposition, Arizona National, San Antonio Stock Show, and several Junior Nationals. Aside from education, Chris is heavily involved in the promotion and exhibition of the family herd, C-5 Angus, in which they market show heifers to junior members through an annual sale in the fall and an online sale in the spring. Chris currently resides in Ankeny, IA with his wife Katie and sons: Beau and Lincoln.
With more than thirty-five years of experience under his belt, Allan exemplifies the ideal qualities you would find in a stock show university professor. Allan has raised and shown numerous champions throughout the years. Not only is he a prime example of a Stock Show University Professor, but he is also an accomplished evaluator. Allan has judged every major stock show in the country and several in Canada. For Dave and his wife, Becky, showing livestock will continue to be a family affair with their three sons, Tyler, Mason, and Landry. Allan also represents Purina as an Honor Show Chow Ambassador.
Raised on a 17,000-acre ranch in western Nebraska with a cowherd consisting of 500 registered Angus cows, Tim graduated from Oklahoma State University with a degree in Animal Science & Business. While attending OSU, Tim was a member of the National Champion Livestock Judging Team, the World Quarter Horse Judging Team, and the Meats Judging Team. After college, Tim accepted a position at Whitestone Farm in Aldie, VA specializing in show and sale cattle for 8 years. He then took a manager's position for a short term of 4 years at Foxcross Farm in West Virginia, before landing a general management job outside of Philadelphia, PA at Cherry Knoll Farms, where he currently resides. In the past 20 years, Tim has led 9 Angus heifers to the elite status of ROV Show Heifer of the Year. In addition to these great accomplishments, in 2002 and 2003, one heifer made history in the Angus breed claiming back to back titles. Tim has judged at National Western Stock Show, Houston, the American Royal, NAILE, and many more.
