ENTRY INFORMATION

This show is open to members of NAJRAE. Members who turned 22 years of age before January 1, 2025 are not eligible to show. No participants will be discriminated against as a result of a physical, emotional or mental handicap. The only requirement is to specify on the entry form so accommodations can be made.

All exhibitors must be an active NAJRAE member.

NO other association or organizational membership is needed.

NAJRAE Membership Fees are $20 and are payable at entry time.

  • Cattle entered in this show must be officially registered in one of the following: the Canadian Angus Association (CAA), the Red Angus Association of America (RAAA).


ANIMAL HEALTH REQUIREMENTS

ALL animals (in-state and out-of-state) exhibiting at FUZION must be accompanied by an official, valid Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI, health certificate).

  1. All species imported for breeding purposes or requiring testing shall be individually identified by a method approved by the animal health commissioner (official USDA ear tag, breed registration tattoo, Microchip, registered ear notch, etc).

  1. All health certificates must have physical addresses (NOT post-office boxes) for both the consignor and consignee.

PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS:

Exhibitors showing in ANY FUZION cattle show must compete in three (3) satellite events.

  • Two (2) events MUST be from the eight (8) individual contests.

    • Eligible individual contests include: arts & crafts, photography, sales talk, public speaking, livestock judging. herdsman’s quiz, graphic design, or interview contest for eligible exhibitors.

  • One (1) event may be from a team event.

    • Eligible team events are Quiz Bowl or Team Fitting

  • Show Date: Friday, June 20

    OWNERSHIP: An Exhibitor or Exhibitor’s sibling or step-sibling must be listed as breeder and the only owner on the original registration certificate. The animal must never have been transferred out of the original breeder/owner’s name to qualify for bred and owned.

    REGISTRATION: Only registered Red Angus females that are 87% through 100% with no disqualifying marks or color will be eligible to show. Cattle will show together in the same class. Cattle entered in this show must be officially registered in one of the following: the herd book of the Canadian Angus Association (CAA) or the Red Angus Association of America (RAAA) herd book. The original registration certificate or pdf as printed is required at check-in. Cattle must be in the R or I status at the time of NAJRAE check-in.

    SUBSTITUTIONS:  Substitutions will be allowed within the same sex and must be declared at check in.

    ANIMAL HANDLING: Any exhibitor who loses control of his/her animal twice in the show ring will be required to remove the animal from the ring.

    BRED & OWNED RED ANGUS FEMALE RULES:
    An Exhibitor or Exhibitor’s sibling or step sibling must be listed as breeder and the only owner on the original registration certificate. The animal must never have been transferred out of the original breeder/owner’s name to qualify for bred and owned.

    An Exhibitor may show a sibling or step sibling’s bred and owned animal as long as the animal entry is entered in that Exhibitor’s name by entry deadline.
    For example, Joe Smith owns the animal and qualifies as Bred & Owned. John Smith, Joe’s step brother, may exhibit the animal in all NAJRAE’s FUZION shows, including Bred & Owned, without transferring the name on the registration paper as long as the animal show entry is in John Smith’s name by entry deadline

    The animal may be entered under one sibling’s name for one show during the event and entered under the other sibling for a different show during the event. Declaration of which sibling will be showing the animal for which show must be done by the show’s entry deadline. The animal may not be entered under each sibling’s name for a respective show.
    For example, using the animal above, Joe Smith may enter the animal in the Bred & Owned Female Show and John Smith may enter the animal in the Owned Show as long as that declaration is made at entry deadline. The animal may not be entered under Joe Smith and John smith for the Owned Show

    Heifers and Cow/Calf will have their own division but will compete for overall grand and reserve champion show honors.

    Top five animals will be selected.

    Cow/Calf Pairs
    The cow determines where the pair will show.
    1. The cow must be owned by the exhibitor at the time the calf is born.
    2. The cow must be registered in the junior exhibitor’s name, sibling, or step sibling’s name consistent with the rule listed above for ownership.
    3. The cow and calf must BOTH be bred and owned to show in this division.
    4. Cows exhibited with calves at side must be lactating.
    5. Calves must not be more than 250 days of age at the time of the show.
    6. Bulls and heifers must meet RAAA or CAA registration requirements.
    7. Calves are not required to be registered if showing alongside the cow only. Any calf exhibited at the side of their dam in a cow/calf class may be exhibited in an individual class subject to all pertinent FUZION Show Rules and Classifications and must be registered.
    8. Only natural pairs are eligible.

    At the time of processing, all females 20 months of age or older on publicized date of show must have one of the following:
    1. Certificate of pregnancy from a licensed veterinarian.
    2. Written statement by a licensed veterinarian or embryologist of having produced fertile eggs.
    3. A female’s own natural born calf at side, that is registered 87% or above.

    Peewees are not eligible for this show unless they are in the Novice Division.

  • Show Date: Friday, June 20

    SUBSTITUTIONS: Substitutions will be allowed within the same sex and must be declared at check in.

    ANIMAL HANDLING: Any exhibitor who loses control of his/her animal twice in the show ring will be required to remove the animal from the ring.

    BLACK ANGUS OWNED SHOW RULES:

    Animals may not have any disqualifying white:
    The skin color of all animals for which application for registration is made must be BLACK. An animal red in color or with white skin or hair above the underline, in front of the navel or on leg, foot, or tail, shall not be eligible for this show.

    All females must be under 2 years of age and will be shown as individuals.

    All females must be polled. A scurred animal is considered polled.

    Pairs will not be allowed in the show.

    Classes will be broken by the FUZION Show Officials by animal date of birth.

    Top five animals will be selected.

    Please refer to class breakdown in the rule book.

    Peewees are not eligible for this show unless they are in the Novice Division.

    OWNERSHIP: All animals must be registered in the exhibitor’s name only.

    SUBSTITUTIONS: There will be no substitutions for any entry.

    ANIMAL HANDLING: Any exhibitor who loses control of his/her animal twice in the show ring will be required to remove the animal from the ring.

    PERCENTAGE RED ANGUS FEMALE SHOW RULES:

    Females must be registered with the RAAA

    Females must be 50% or greater Red Angus from one registered parent.

    Females must be red hided and polled. For example, Charolais/Red Angus Cross (range fires). No black hided or black animals allowed. Refer to the RAAA Breeder’s Guide for disqualifying characteristics from an 87% and above classification. When in doubt, please contact FUZION Show officials at info@najrae.com or Cheryl@najrae.com.

    Females must display enough breed characteristics which match the percentage or registration

    Females must not have horns.  Horns may be surgically removed but must be healed by check in.  Scurred animals are considered polled if the exhibitor chooses not to remove the scurs

    Pairs will not be allowed in the show.

    Classes will be broken by the show committee by animal date of birth

    Top five animals will be selected.

    Please refer to class breakdown in the rule book.

    Peewees are not eligible for this show unless they are in the Novice Division.

    OWNERSHIP: All animals must be registered in the exhibitor’s name only.

    SUBSTITUTIONS: There will be no substitutions for any entry.

    ANIMAL HANDLING: Any exhibitor who loses control of his/her animal twice in the show ring will be required to remove the animal from the ring.

    PERCENTAGE ANGUS FEMALE SHOW RULES:

    Females must be registered with their respective breed.

    Females must be 25% Angus or greater.

    All females must be under 2 years of age and will be shown as individuals.

    A scurred animal is considered polled if you choose not to remove the scurs, if you surgically or mechanically remove the scur you will be disqualified.

    Pairs will not be allowed in the show.

    Classes will be broken by the show committee by animal date of birth

    Top five animals will be selected.

    Please refer to class breakdown in the rule book.

    Peewees are not eligible for this show unless they are in the Novice Division.

    BLACK RED CARRIER FEMALE SHOW RULES:

    Females must be registered with RAAA or CAA.

    Females must be Angus genetics of 87% and above.

    Parentage for the animal must be the following:
    1. one (1) parent must be a category 1A (100%) or 1B (87% and above) with the RAAA or a Red Angus with the CAA.
    2. The second parent may be a category 1A (100%), 1B (87% and above), or a Category 2 (87% and above with ineligible white or black hide) with the RAAA or a registered Angus with the CAA or the AAA.

    All animals must be Parental verified by check in with RAAA or CAA or the animal will not be allowed to show.

    Animals may not have any disqualifying white:
